Campbell House, Georgetown, Penang was build in 1903 as a purpose built budget hotel, than known as "Tai Locke hotel" originally housing pilgrims waiting for ships heading to Mecca, than Hianese sailors boarding working ships. Purchased 7 years ago by the current owners, the building underwent a considerable refurbishment, reinforcing the structure, leveling floors, re-plastering walls, raising the ground floor, new wiring, new plumbing, air con throughout, replacement of wood, additional large terrace and new loft room, all within national building standards.

 

This Grade II listed building has been refurbished in 2011, fitted and designed to very high standards. The building is without a doubt, one of the most Iconic and better presented Boutique Hotels in Georgetown, recently featured in “Commercial Concept” Design magazine.
